A short taxi ride from the JR train station. A short walk to Nara deer park. Very nicely designed interior. The room was spacious. The minibar was included in the room rate and replenished every day. Tea snack was provided every day, as expected in good ryokans although it calls itself a hotel. The small towel came in a nice Japanese cloth bag each day which we could bring home as souvenirs. They have a very lovely rooftop garden which was beautifully lit at night. I have stayed at many ryokans in Japan and this ranks among the best in terms of service, from the reception to the restaurant staff. The food was comparable to the higher end ryokans with a choice of 3 different hotpots for our second night's dinner. They served several dishes unique to Nara, which I was seeing for the first time despite my having been to Japan multiple times. They also had a violinist to entertain diners, going around each of our private rooms. They even brought us Nara deer soft toys to pose for a joint photograph during dinner to commemorate our stay. All in all, a great stay that exceeded our expectations.

Everything was just perfect when we stayed here! When we arrived at the hotel, we were offered hot towels and lemon and honey tea. A worker took our luggage and brought it to our room. Our room was super spacious and comfortable, and there was even free beer and water in the fridge. The small outdoor bathtub was perfect and easy to use. The upstairs Onsen was small, but we were the only ones there, so it wasn't a problem for us. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were perfectly made and delicious. It was fun to taste so many different dishes and flavors that we otherwise wouldn't have tasted. The whole experience of staying here was just perfect and definitely a highlight of our entire Japan trip. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to everyone who wants to experience a real ryokan experience

Everything was outstanding. The reception staff, is extremely curteous and highly professional. We were given a very good map to help us navigate around Nara's temple. The room was exquisite, the futons very comfortable. The bathroom offered so many amenities and beauty products! We also loved the traditional outfit available during our stay. The traditional breakfast was delicious and allowed us to discover dishes we would never have otherwise. The onsen was perfect after a long day walking around town. I'm dreaming of coming back again!

From the very first moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful decor/landscaping and hospitable staff. The staff member(s) were excellent in explaining how to stay in a ryokan (as visitors with no experience, this was very helpful) by showing us around our room. We tried their restaurant's traditional Japanese breakfast and it was superb! Additionally, we booked a private onsen and it was so clean and relaxing, offering stunning views of the city. I cannot recommend this stay enough, we can't wait to go back!

A very comfortable tatami-mat room with a deep full soak tub. The location in regards to Nara Park was fantastic and I had a wonderful view of Tōdai-ji in the mornings. Things were very quiet, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything it could be including walking me through all the amenities they had to offer. They also provided local area maps with all the main attractions and let me know how best to navigate what I wanted to do which helped quite a bit with planning how I spent my time.
